Turtles, surf draw tourists to Nicaragua

Nicaragua has generally been overlooked by tourists because of political turmoil during the 1980s, but its time has arrived. San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, shares many of the natural draw travelers to Costa Rican and Mexican hotspots, but fewer tourists. Turtles laying hundreds of eggs in nests in the sand; surf as pristine and as uncrowded as though it were the 1950s. If you have a sense of adventure and an appetite for risk, it just might become the next Puerto Vallarta or Puntarenas.
